​Alongside my academic career, I am also a musician specializing in the musical roots of Anatolia and Asia Minor. I was born in Istanbul into a musical family where poetry and music were served in tiny house gatherings.  I owe my passion for singing to my family and the inspiring musical communities I found early on. Active as a performer and cultural worker since my teens, I had long years of experience learning and teaching voice techniques across various institutions, and working on wide-ranging collaborative projects diving into the musical roots of Anatolia. 

When not doing academic work, I like recording in my home studio, having musical gatherings, and doing outdoor activities with my friends.
